As you enter the town of Ubud you are immediately taken back by the aromatic smell of incense from the many temples. Everyone is smiling and you get a true feeling of serenity.
Ubud is renowned for its spiritual healing and for being Bali’s cultural hotspot. Right in the heart of that, on the quaint street of Jalan Bisma, you will find Bisma Eight.
Greeted by the genial staff, that serene feeling continues. After you check in you are invited to make a wish or prayer to Ganesha; the god of success in Hindu, whether you are religious or not it is a lovely way of starting your stay with mindfulness and the feeling of peace!
Bisma Eight comprises of 38 rooms, although you would never know with the tropical trees standing tall for optimum privacy, provided by nature of course.
You are then led through the ‘forest path’ to your room by one of the polite members of staff. Entering the Canopy Suite, you are met by the living area with a tv and plenty of places to lounge…at 54 square metres you do not feel short of space which can be screened off from the sleeping area. There is even a private outdoor balcony looking over the luscious green canopy; perfect for a cup of tea or a cheeky cocktail.
The rooms have a modern, clean feel with a mix of teak wood and soft traditional fabrics from fine woven rugs to unique Balinese Ikat designs.
The highlight of the room has to be the onsen soaking tub, a very deep Japanese-style bath. After adding Bisma Eight’s very own heavenly smelling bath salts, made by Balinese company Republic of Soap for thee ultimate luxurious bathing experience. Definitely worth the 30 minute wait it takes to fill this monstrous tub!
If you fancy something a bit more active before breakfast you have a choice of a fully equipped gym or perhaps a morning yoga class, followed by jumping in the astonishing infinity pool for a few leisurely lengths. Yoga classes are available daily from 8am to 9am.
The pool is surrounded by the canopy of the Ubud’s jungle, having a perfect view from the water. Bisma Eight houses the only temperature controlled pool in Ubud, which is perfect for evenings in Bali’s cooler seasons. Meaning you can jump right on in without that initial chilly shock!
After your morning activities, it is time for a well-deserved breakfast, either served by the pool or Copper Kitchen & Bar, a grand rooftop restaurant and bar that is reminiscent of a spot is Tuscany. The vast breakfast menu leaves you deciding between the impossible. What to have? the smashed avocado, feta, herbs and poached eggs or the waffle, yuze parfait, apple rye and date??? (both incredible).
Last but not least, seeing the sunset from Bisma Eight is worth the trip alone. You can view the breathtaking from the comfort of the warm pool or the beautiful roof top with its organic garden. We highly recommend trying The Afternoon Treats; for anyone who has a penchant for drinking copious amounts of tea and chowing down on an array of delectable treats with the pink skies as a back drop.
In short, Bisma Eight is truly an all-rounder from young couples to families, there is something for everyone and a must see while in the charming town of Ubud. Check out their packages to see what kind of experience you will find.
